John
Co-Founder/Managing Director
Favorite part of the job:
“Watching ideas take root and seeing our team thrive because of them. The most rewarding part is knowing Ameristar has become something bigger than me — and that I get to keep shaping what it becomes next.”
KC Connection:
When he’s not leading Ameristar, John’s with his wife and three kids — at the ball fields, on the lake, or planning their next family getaway. Though a Texas native, he proudly calls Kansas City home and enjoys the food scene, the outdoors, and cheering on the Longhorns.
Fun fact:
Even after nearly two decades in KC, John still says “y’all” without thinking twice — and if he weren’t running Ameristar, he’d probably be out treasure hunting.
Vern
Production/Operations Director
Favorite part of the job:
Seeing a plan move from whiteboard to real-world execution — and watching a crew hit momentum because the prep, logistics, and timing were dialed in. Turning complexity into a clean, controlled operation is what fires him up.
KC Connection:
When he’s not optimizing workflows, Vern’s usually out and about in KC with his wife and three boys — from youth sports during the week to spontaneous weekend road trips. His favorite place is simply wherever his family is in motion.
Fun fact:
Vern’s been to 48 of the 50 U.S. states and has completed two 100-mile ultra marathons. Precision, endurance, and focus — both on and off the job.
Heather
CFO/Marketing Director
Favorite part of the job:
“I love the mix of structure and strategy — balancing numbers with people, and helping our team and company grow. Watching projects go from chaos to organized success is my kind of satisfaction.”
KC Connection:
Heather loves a good shopping trip around Kansas City — especially when it comes with lunch to match. When she’s not leading the charge at Ameristar, she’s gardening, canning, or spending time on the family farm with her husband and four kids.
Fun fact:
Heather’s been with Ameristar for 14 years — basically an OG around here. She finds peace in productivity and genuinely lights up when things click into place, whether it’s numbers, people, or plans.
Christi
Production Assistant
Favorite part of the job:
“I love seeing a project come together — solving problems, keeping things running smoothly, and knowing our customers are happy with the end result.”
KC Connection:
Christi never passes up a chance to try a new BBQ restaurant and loves cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs. Her favorite moments are spent with her three grandchildren.
Fun fact:
Christi truly doesn’t know a stranger — her upbeat energy and trademark quirky glasses make everyone feel right at home from the moment they meet her.
Dave
Project Manager
Favorite part of the job:
Guiding homeowners through the restoration process and ensuring they feel confident and cared for from start to finish. Whether it’s storm damage, repairs, or a full roof replacement, Dave is committed to delivering top-quality service with a personal touch.
KC Connection:
Outside of work, Dave enjoys exploring Downtown Lee’s Summit, spending time with his family at the lake, and getting off the beaten path with some off-roading and four-wheeling adventures.
Fun fact:
Before joining Ameristar, Dave had the rare opportunity to work with NASA — an experience that shaped his passion for precision and problem-solving.
Dana
Administrative & CFO Assistant
Favorite part of the job:
“I love being part of the behind-the-scenes support that keeps things moving on the financial side. Every day is a little different, and I like knowing that what I do helps things flow where they need to.”
KC Connection:
When she’s in KC, Dana loves hunting for the perfect houseplant or new seasonal décor at Hobby Lobby and HomeGoods. Her go-to eatery is Whiskey River in Parkville, and she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, daughter, and dog.
Fun fact:
Some people binge-watch TV shows — Dana binge-buys houseplants.
Hayden
Field Technician
Favorite part of the job:
“Keeping things organized and on track — especially making sure the shop runs like a well-oiled machine.”
KC Connection:
You’ll often find Hayden at Jefferson’s in North KC, enjoying good food and good company.
Fun fact:
Hayden’s known for choosing Brussels sprouts over fries — every single time. As a true “Careful Implementer,” he finds satisfaction in seeing things come full circle, whether that’s a completed roof, a clean shop, or a project checked off the list.
